I'll start this week by highlighting the ESA's Postdoctoral Excellence Award in Plant Population Ecology. The award, sponsored by AoB PLANTS has a deadline. The webpage says June 1, but a tweet from the PPE section of the ESA says the deadline has been extended to June 15.For my weekend off, I was introduced to Argyrocytisus battandieri, Moroccan broom. I don't remember seeing it before, nor smelling it. It has a gorgeous light pineapple scent. If you see one in a botanic garden when it's flowering, then it's definitely worth close inspection.I'll be back next week with another round-up of the stories shared by people following @botanyone on Twitter. Until then take care.Alun (webmaster@botany.one)
